The Liberal Democrats have confirmed they are to drop calls for a second referendum and campaign to Revoke and Remain in a bold move approved at its conference in Bournemouth today.
With the Government's Brexit strategy set to hit the North the hardest, Liberal Democrat MEPs have confirmed they will back the move.
Jane Brophy MEP has said Revoking and Remaining is "the best deal for Northerners."
North West Liberal Democrat MEP Jane Brophy said:
"There's no doubt that the North will be hit hardest by this Brexit clown show.
"Liberal Democrats will not stand by and watch this car crash, driven by the historically unfit Johnson and Corbyn, destroy our region.
"Labour and the Tories are broken beyond repair, but the Lib Dems are stronger than ever and we couldn't be clearer.
"Our new position to Revoke Article 50 and Remain in the EU is the right thing to do. It's the best deal for Northerners and we will do all we can to make it happen."
